Homemade Chocolate Mint Lip Balm

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • glass measuring cup
  • measuring spoons
  • lip balm storage tubes or containers

Materials

  • 1 teaspoon shea butter
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon beeswax
  • 1/4 teaspoon dark cocoa powder
  • 2 drops peppermint or spearmint essential oil

Instructions

  • Before beginning, make sure your storage containers are clean, dry, and ready to use.
  • Melt the oils and butter in the saucepan over medium heat slowly, stirring occassionally.
  • Once they are almost melted, whisk in the cocoa powder and essential oil to thoroughly combine. Turn off the heat.
  • Carefully pour the mixture into a measuring cup that has a spout.
  • Pour the mixture to fill your lip balm storage containers.
  • Let the balm cool completely before capping and applying labels.
